All of these functions are achievable within an environmentally focused economic model. This becomes possible through the emphasis on sustainable business practices, renewable energy, and efficient resource use. As a result, there are numerous positive impacts on the natural world—many of which are clearly visible. There is a strong link between a sustainable economy and lower greenhouse gas emissions, as shown by the following statement. A central goal of switching to renewable energy and implementing energy-saving strategies is to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, which are among the leading causes of climate change.
